With the Times Square New Year’s Event Ball Drop being cancelled for the first time in more than 75 years, it’s safe to say we’re all going to be celebrating NYE a little differently this year. Most celebrations are going digital—but there will still be celebrations!
At Del Mar Plaza, we want to help you send the 2020 off right—whether you’re staying in or venturing out. Here’s how to have an epic New Year’s Eve.
Find a Fab Outfit
You might not be dressing to the nines this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still dress up. Our boutiques have the perfect outfits to help you ring in the New Year in style—while still feeling comfy and cozy. From sequin-embellished sweaters for women to luxurious jogger pants for men, you’ll be able to find a fabulous outfit to make the night feel special.
Dine In or Take Out
Most festivities have been completely cancelled this season, but our restaurants are still open for dining! Get dressed up a snag a table at Pacifica Del Mar, Il Fornaio, Del Mar Rendezvous, Monarch Ocean Pub, or Shimbashi Izakaya (which will be serving special traditional Japanese New Year’s dishes) for a delightful night out. But if staying in is more your speed this year, you can easily order takeout and get your favorite dishes to-go too.
Cheers to the New Year
Delicious dishes aren’t the only thing you can bring home with you to celebrate—many of our restaurants offer cocktails, wine, and beer to-go as well. From a vintage pinot noir off Pacifica’s award-winning wine list to a Negroni Special from Il Fornaio, you can pour yourself a glass and share a very special toast when the clock strikes midnight.
We’ve been through a rollercoaster of a year in 2020, and at Del Mar Plaza, we’re looking forward to a fantastic 2021! Thanks for including us in your special moments this year, we can’t wait for more in the New Year! For more info on upcoming events at Del Mar Plaza, check out our calendar.
