Summer is the season Del Mar’s beauty really gets to shine! Actually, if we’re going to be honest here, our seaside city is pretty great all year round. But summer means longer days, more time with family, blue skies, and perfect sunset views of the Pacific.
That’s why we keep our Del Mar Plaza events calendar jammed pack with summer-fun activities. Whether you’re looking to make memories with your family or need a romantic night out with your honey, make sure you mark your calendar for these upcoming events at Del Mar Plaza this summer.
Game Time
Every Sunday through June, we’re inviting you to Game Time. It’s an opportunity to grab your friends and family and have some fun in the sun. Our Ocean View Deck with be set up with ping pong tables, cornhole, and Foosball; you can also head over to our Canyon Terrace for giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, checkers, and chess. It’s all about fun, games, and a little friendly competition. Spice things up with a bet: loser has to buy winner drinks or dessert after the game.
Plaza Pong
We’re bringing Plaza Pong back to our Ocean View Deck this year for our second annual tournament. Last year’s event sold out and we’re expecting even more people to sign up and compete this year! Winner gets not only bragging rights, but also a trophy and up to $1,000 in cash prizes! The competition is open to all skill levels, including children. Seaside Sessions
A Del Mar Plaza favorite, Seaside Sessions is Del Mar Plaza’s summer concert series. It kicks off on Thursday, July 4 and runs through the end of August. Come enjoy free live music as you dine at one of our award-winning restaurants and watch the sun set. Click here for the full line-up of artists.
Opening Day After-Party
We’re celebrating another start to the racing season with our Opening Day After-Party! After all the winning bets are collected and horses are back in their stables, make your way to Del Mar Plaza for some festive sips and fabulous sunset views. The party starts at 4:00 p.m. on July 17th.
Taste of Del Mar
End summer on a high note with us and snag your ticket to Taste of Del Mar. Savor culinary treats from more than 25 local restaurants and whet your palette with tastings, or “Sip Stops,” from more than 15 craft beer and wine companies. You’ll also be able to enjoy live music as a part of a special edition of Seaside Session, featuring music from Sully and The Souljahs. For more information on the event, click here.
