Whether you’re out to dinner with loved ones or happy hour with friends, sometimes you just need to quench your thirst with a really great cocktail. Luckily, the award-winning restaurants at Del Mar Plaza each offer unique—dare we say, crazy—cocktails to wet your whistle on days a simple beer or glass of wine won’t do. Here are the 10 cocktails we order again and again.

Il Fornaio + Enoteca del Fornaio

When you dine at Il Fornaio and Enoteca del Fornaio, you’re transported to Italy, so naturally, you may be expecting wine with your meal. Although their selection of vino is quite extensive, that doesn’t mean you should pass up a cocktail.

Rosso Delizioso

Fruity and refreshing, this cocktail is made with Caliche rum, Pavan orange blossom liqueur, fresh lime juice, fresh strawberries, and finished with a few raspberries.

Capri

You’ll be hard pressed to not picture yourself sitting on a beach in Capri after having a few sips of this one. It’s crafted with Absolut Citrus vodka, Veev acai liqueur, fresh lime, fresh raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and club soda.

Pacifica Breeze Café

Don’t let the morning hours of Pacifica Breeze fool you; they serve up some cocktails that will help raise your spirits and start the day off right.

Breeze Bloody Mary

A brunch favorite, the Café’s Bloody Mary is made with a special house mix, vodka, and topped off with a dill pickle.

Mimosa

We’re not completely sure if a Mimosa counts as a cocktail, but it’s on our list anyway. The classic brunch beverage starts with Champagne and ends with a splash of orange juice.

Pacifica

With more than 100 of the world’s finest vodkas behind the bar, Pacifica Del Mar has a cocktail list to suit anyone’s taste.

Strawberry Frosè

A frozen and fruity spin on the popular summertime wine, the Frosè is a blend of Rosè, strawberry puree, and a dash of lemon juice.

Green Flash

Probably named because it has a tint of green and you’ll finish it in a flash, this cocktail is crafted with Crop cucumber vodka, cucumber water, lime juice, and simple syrup.

Grapefruit

Pulling from one of the restaurant’s many specialty vodkas, Grapefruit is made with Deep eddy grapefruit vodka, elderflower, and a splash of grapefruit juice.

Shimbashi Izakaya

Shimbashi Izakaya offers a unique, Japanese twist to its cocktail menu options.

Del Mar Beach

If you want a taste of Japan, try the Del Mar Beach. The cocktail is made with Shochu, Blue Curacao, and the Japanese soda Calpico—which has a unique, light, somewhat milky, flavor to it.

Shimbashi Sunrise

A relatively simple cocktail that’s big on taste, the Shimbashi Sunrise is crafted with Shochu, orange juice, and grenadine.

Ginger Sake Cocktail

This cocktail gives a kick to your glass of sake. It mixes soda and a bit of fresh ginger to the spirit; after a few sips of this, you might just discover that cocktail-form is your new favorite way to drink sake.

If you’re not one for mixed drinks, Del Mar Rendezvous offers a great wine and beer selection—both of which are half off during happy hour (lunchtime to 6:00 p.m.). For more dining options and a list of happy hour offerings, visit Del Mar Plaza online.
