Il Fornaio

Why You Should Try an Authentic Cooking Class at Il Fornaio

Looking for a new way to spend your Saturday? Instead of just planning to go out for dinner, make your Saturday special and register for Il Fornaio’s authentic Italian cooking class. The restaurant has been holding these classes for more than 10 years and it’s become a sort of tradition, with many guests returning month after month for a fun day or night out.

Held the last Saturday of every month, each class focuses on the same region that was celebrated during the Festa Regionale. So if you visited earlier in the month to sample their special menu, the class is an opportunity for you to watch the restaurant’s master chefs whip up one of the dishes right in front of your eyes.

But what’s a cooking class without a meal? You’ll be served a three-course meal (appetizer or soup, entrée like pasta or steak, and dessert) while you’re learning how to make one of the dishes. Of course, the wine will be flowing the entire class, so be prepared for a good time.

This month’s class will be held on April 28th at noon. And in sticking with celebrating the region of Sardegna, the menu will include:

  • Insalata di Polipo—crispy octopus on top of an arugula salad with wild fennel and lemon garlic extra-virgin olive oil
  • Malloreddus al Sugo di Cinghiale—thin shell pasta with wild boar ragu and pecorino
  • Panna Cotta al Mirto—fresh blueberry custard with Mirto liqueur sauce

Space is limited to 24 guests per class, so call (858) 755-8876 and reserve your spot today!
