We talk a lot about how easy it is to eat and drink your way through the Plaza, but here’s the thing we don’t say enough: you can take care of yourself here just as easily. Workout class, a walk by the ocean, a little pampering, something good to refuel with after. All of it within the same few flights of stairs. So we built ourselves a wellness morning to prove the point. Here’s how it goes.
Start with a sweat
We usually kick things off up top at Yoga Barre. It’s on the Plaza level, directly across from Monarch, and it’s a hot yoga, sculpt, and barre studio. The schedule of classes rotates daily, so you can pick your intensity.
If yoga isn’t your speed, Beyond Pilates is just a couple doors down. Reformer Pilates is its own kind of humbling: low impact, deceptively tough, and great for those mornings when you want to work hard without jumping around. Either way, you’re starting the day having actually moved.
Walk it off by the water
One of the best things about the Plaza is what’s waiting at the bottom of the hill. Step out, head down 15th, and in about five minutes you’re at Powerhouse and Seagrove Park, the grassy bluffs right over the sand, perfect for a slow cooldown walk with the ocean in front of you.
Want to make it longer? Drop down to the beach and head north. About a mile up, you’ll hit Del Mar’s North Beach, better known as Dog Beach, where the pups get to run (leash rules shift with the season, so it’s worth a quick check before you go). Bring them along, let everyone stretch their legs, and loop back when you’re ready.
Recharge and get a little pampered
Back up at the Plaza, this is where the “treat yourself” part comes in. Salon Republic and Solara Salon have you covered for hair, and Del Mar Nails and Spa is our go-to when a fresh manicure is the reset we’re actually after.
And if you want to go a step further, SkinSpirit is right here too, a provider-led spot for aesthetics and skincare when you’re in the mood to invest a little more in the glow. A workout, a beach walk, and a facial in one morning? We’re not going to talk you out of it.
Refuel before you go
No wellness morning is complete without something to refuel with. Valley Farm Market downstairs is the easy answer. Grab a cold-pressed juice or one of their poke bowls if the walk worked up a real appetite. If you just need a quiet minute and a good coffee, Kini Koffee has ocean-view deck seating.
