Desserts By Clément Is Now Open at Del Mar Plaza

Del Mar Plaza just got a little sweeter.

As covered by SanDiegoVille, Desserts By Clément has officially opened its second San Diego location here at Del Mar Plaza — bringing chef Clément Le Déoré’s celebrated French confections to the North County coast. The new bakery is located in Suite 304, in the space formerly occupied by Paris en Rose, and is open daily from 9am to 9pm.

The Del Mar opening marks a major milestone for Le Déoré, whose Pacific Beach flagship quickly became one of San Diego’s most sought-after destinations for modern French pastries. A third location in Vista is already in the works.

What’s on the Menu

The Del Mar bakery focuses exclusively on pastries, desserts, coffee, and baked goods. Le Déoré’s signature fruit-shaped entremets — meticulously crafted to resemble the fruits and ingredients that inspire them — are available in mango, raspberry, blueberry, lemon, peach, blackberry, pistachio, and tiramisu. Equally eye-catching are the whimsical chocolate mousse bears in milk chocolate, strawberry yogurt, and vanilla-passion fruit, alongside French classics like crème brûlée, laminated croissants, kouign-amann, cruffins, and almond croissants.

A newer addition, the Dubai Chocolate Croissant, reflects Le Déoré’s knack for blending classic French technique with social media-worthy presentation. Macarons come in more than a dozen flavors — pistachio, passion fruit, lavender, salted caramel, chocolate, raspberry, rose, vanilla, lemon, and cookies and cream — and larger celebration cakes, including raspberry charlotte and mango cheesecake, are available for groups.

Coffee is taken just as seriously, with a full espresso program offering cappuccinos, cortados, lattes, cold brew, matcha, chai, and specialty beverages designed to pair with the pastry case.

The Chef Behind It All

Originally from Brittany, France, Le Déoré began baking professionally at just 15 years old, refining his craft across Europe and Australia before relocating to San Diego. He served as executive pastry chef at Le Parfait Paris before launching Desserts By Clément in Pacific Beach in late 2023. His national profile rose further after a runner-up finish on Food Network’s inaugural season of The Ultimate Baking Championship, introducing his intricate pastry artistry to viewers across the country.
