One of the best parts of fall in Del Mar is the shift in seasonal menus. It’s the time of year when restaurants bring in new ingredients, limited-time specials appear, and bartenders experiment with twists on their favorite drinks. We tried a handful of new fall cocktails across the Plaza, and these rose to the top.
Tamarindo Del Mar: Smokey Coolada
Made with mezcal, coconut purée, and pineapple, this drink bridges the gap between summer and fall. The mezcal brings a warm smokiness, while the creamy coconut and subtle pineapple add just enough freshness—especially when paired with Tamarindo’s locally loved Mole.
Monarch Ocean Pub: Brown Sugar
Brown Butter–Washed Buffalo Trace Bourbon, lemon, egg white, simple syrup, Angostura bitters… need we say more? This perfectly balanced fall cocktail is only available for a limited time, so make sure it’s on your list.
Pacifica Del Mar: The Manhattan Project
Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Carpano Antica, black walnut bitters, and Aztec chocolate bitters come together for a spirit-forward riff on a classic Manhattan. Pair it with Pacifica’s famous sugar-spiced salmon for an unbeatable fall meal.
Il Fornaio: Bianco Natale
Each year, Il Fornaio Del Mar releases a special holiday cocktail menu, and this season the Bianco Natale is the standout. Made with VOV zabajone, Conciere brandy, alpine amaro, half-and-half, cinnamon, and cocoa, this traditional Italian holiday drink might just have you ordering a second round.
We love a good holiday beverage here at Del Mar Plaza, but don’t forget to explore each restaurant’s mocktail options and seasonal food specials. Check out our full list of restaurants here: https://delmarplaza.com/dine.
