Summer Isn’t Over Yet! Why You Should End the Season with One Final Seaside Session

Labor Day—the unofficial end to summer—might have passed, but that doesn’t mean we’re ready to say goodbye to the season. There are still plenty of ways to soak up the sun at Del Mar Plaza this year, including our final few Seaside Session shows.

The beloved Plaza tradition began the season in July, and has been drawing live music fans to our Ocean View Deck every week. Each show starts just before sunset, so the music can set the mood for a relaxing late-summer night.

The Coolrays | Sunday, Sep. 9

On Sunday, Sep. 9, The Coolrays will be playing Beach Boys-inspired tunes and music from the 50’s and 60’s. The San Diego-based rock band uses guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and a rich, three-part vocal harmony to produce its cool, “California” sound. Come ready to sing along and groove, The Coolrays will be giving out Good Vibrations beginning at 4pm.

The Wheeland Brothers | Thursday, Sep. 13

The Wheeland Brothers got their musical inspiration from their hometown of Orange County, where they grew up surfing, scarfing down burritos, and jamming around beach bonfires. With songs like Sand in My Sheets, and Just Take It Easy, this musical duo is the perfect sendoff to this season’s concert series. The show begins at 5:30pm on Thursday, Sep. 13.

Seaside Sessions is a unique way to enjoy music by local artists while you dine on exquisite cuisine. While Il Fornaio and Enoteca del Fornaio have the best views, you’ll be able to hear the melodies from any outdoor seat at the Plaza, including Shimbashi Izakaya and Pacifica Del Mar.

Invite your friends and family, and make a dinner reservation if need be. We’ll see you at the Plaza for our last two Seaside Sessions!
